THE WALKING DEAD
By Al Collins
Gonna rock a few boats with this message, but I’m not here to make fans and friends. I’m here to save lives. I’m a Watchman.
In The Silver Bullet of God book, I wrote about what God says about the Watchman. Here’s Ezekiel 33…
The Watchman’s Duty
33 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, speak to the sons of your people and say to them, ‘If I bring a sword upon a land, and the people of the land take one man from among them and make him their watchman, 3 and he sees the sword coming upon the land and blows on the trumpet and warns the people, 4 then he who hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, and a sword comes and takes him away, his blood will be on his own head. 5 He heard the sound of the trumpet but did not take warning; his blood will be on himself. But had he taken warning; he would have delivered his life. 6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned, and a sword comes and takes a person from them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require from the watchman’s hand.’
7 “Now as for you, son of man, I have appointed you a watchman for the house of Israel; so you will hear a message from My mouth and give them warning from Me. 8 When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require from your hand. 9 But if you on your part warn a wicked man to turn from his way and he does not turn from his way, he will die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your life.
10 “Now as for you, son of man, say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus you have spoken, saying, “Surely our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we are rotting away in them; how then can we survive?”’ 11 Say to them, ‘As I live!’ declares the Lord God, ‘I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways! Why then will you die, O house of Israel?’” NKJV
That’s pretty blunt. That’s God, telling Ezekiel, to warn God’s people. For those who say, “Well, that applies to Israel, not the Church. Not Christians.”
The Church is Israel. Those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and follow God’s Gospel, are spiritual Israel, God’s people now. I explain all of that Biblically, in The Silver Bullet of God book.
We already know that every Christian is a saint (1 Corinthians 14:33 and many more); a royal-priest (1 Peter 2:9); a holy temple of God (1 Corinthians 3:16); a joint-heir with Christ (Romans 8:17), seating with Him right now in the Heavenlies (Ephesians 2:6).
We are also each Watchmen. We each have responsibilities with these titles. As Watchmen, God warns us, that we are to warn the wicked in His house (that’s Christians), to turn from their ways of death, in order to live.
As part of my responsibility, I’m blowing on the trumpet to all that say or think they’re Christians, that most are The Walking Dead, wallowing in wickedness!
How do I know this? Comparing religious doctrines to God’s Word is simple enough and all that’s needed.
Let’s do some simple God math:
31% of the world says they’re Christian (Wikipedia). The other 69% are The Walking Dead.
Let’s start big on warning this 31%, as God has warned Watchmen to do.
16% of the 31%, calling themselves Christian, follow the Roman Catholic religion. This religion masquerades as Israel. This religion has refused to submit to God’s Word. It is a cemetery full of tombs (dead doctrines) and tombstones (The Walking Dead). An in-depth dissertation of their false doctrines would be too exhaustive. The internet is there for any who desire to seek the truth. In short, this religion places their religion (i.e. their pope’s pronouncements; doctrines; laws; rules; traditions, etc.), at a higher authority than God’s Word. They genuinely believe they are saved by doing good, confessing sin to a priest, and observing ceremonies. Their view just on justification, sets it apart as a wholly different religion than the true Christian faith, for it is hostile to the simple gospel of grace. Adding works to faith as the grounds of justification is precisely the teaching that Paul condemned as “a different gospel”…
6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 6 NKJV
10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.” Galatians 1 NKJV
Orthodoxy (Orthodox Catholic)
4% of the 31% say they follow the Orthodox religion. This religion has many names such as Eastern; Oriental; Russian; Greek; Romanian Orthodox and so on. This religion started in 1045 AD when it broke away from the false Roman Catholic religion.
Yet essentially, their teaching on salvation is the same as Roman Catholicism where penance; good works; adhering to their religious doctrines, etc., are required.
They venerate (worship) Mary, as do Roman Catholics, calling her the “Most Holy Mother of God.” Mary is praised in their hymns as “more honorable than the Cherubim and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim,” suggesting that Mary (a human being) is higher than angels, which directly contradicts scripture (see Psalm 8:4-5). They say Mary is the “Mother of the Church — it is in Her person that the Church glorifies motherhood.” Notice they even capitalize any pronoun referring to Mary as if Mary were equal with deity. They, and Roman Catholicism, also worship the dead (their proclaimed saints), as well as statues and icons. All of this is nothing short of blasphemy, as God does not share His glory with anyone.
“I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.” Isaiah 42:8
Approx. 11% of the 31% are classified by Wikipedia as Protestants. Protestantism started in 1517 and has branched off into a plethora of religious titles, all claiming to be the true followers of God (e.g. lutheran; anglican; baptist; united; presbyterian; methodist; pentecostal (and their many names); mormon; jehovah witness; seventh day adventist; universalist… ad nauseam).
The various man-made doctrines of these religions, that conflict with God’s Word, staggers the mind! Again, all there on the internet for those who are seekers of truth.
You can take it right down to small home groups that fly their own religious flags, when contrary to God’s Word.
Aside from false doctrines, these religions operate in the flesh (human governance) as businesses; social clubs; entertainment centers and politically correct/religious hierarchies.
“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” Romans 8:5-8
Now, for those doing God math, Wikipedia has 100% of the world as, according to God’s Word, are The Walking Dead.
We know that it isn’t 100%. There are those who are out there fed up with religion, just as the desert fathers and mothers were fed up with religion in the 4th century and walked off with God to be alone with Him, rather than associate with wickedness. This kind operate in the supernatural with the Holy Spirit as their companion and counselor. Living in anonymity amongst The Walking Dead. I say to those, you cannot be anonymous! That’s contrary to God’s Word! You are required to be Watchmen! Get at it!
To the leaders of these various religions, Jesus speaks to you…
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” Matthew 23:27-28
And Jesus speaks to The Walking Dead leaders and those who follow them…
13 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. 14 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.15 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.” Matthew 23:13-16
You Walking Dead, let God deliver you from your insanity and your living among the tombs, as He delivered the man at Gerasenes!
5 They came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gerasenes. 2 And when Jesus had stepped out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit. 3 He lived among the tombs. And no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain, 4 for he had often been bound with shackles and chains, but he wrenched the chains apart, and he broke the shackles in pieces. No one had the strength to subdue him. 5 Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always crying out and cutting himself with stones. 6 And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and fell down before him. 7 And crying out with a loud voice, he said, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.” 8 For he was saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” 9 And Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He replied, “My name is Legion, for we are many.” 10 And he begged him earnestly not to send them out of the country. 11 Now a great herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside, 12 and they begged him, saying, “Send us to the pigs; let us enter them.” 13 So he gave them permission. And the unclean spirits came out and entered the pigs; and the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the sea.
14 The herdsmen fled and told it in the city and in the country. And people came to see what it was that had happened. 15 And they came to Jesus and saw the demon-possessed man, the one who had had the legion, sitting there, clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid. 16 And those who had seen it described to them what had happened to the demon-possessed man and to the pigs. 17 And they began to beg Jesus to depart from their region. 18 As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed with demons begged him that he might be with him. 19 And he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” 20 And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and everyone marveled.” Mark 5:1-20
You would think it would be easy to warn people when their religion and belief system contradicts God’s Word and so, they would repent and walk out from being one of The Walking Dead.
In all the many years that I’ve been pointing out to people that they were on an opposite path from God’s Word, very few have changed. They prefer walking among the tombs and walls of their own cemetery.
Examples of cemetery walls that are built and whitewashed by the Walking Dead:
- My “pastor/priest/leader” must be right.
- The “church” I go to must be right.
- The seminary/Bible College I went to must be right.
- The government says that isn’t a sin so they must be right.
- I was raised in this “church”. My family must be right.
- I’m a good person. I give to and volunteer at the “church” and do lots of charitable things, so I must be right.
- The Bible says I’m not to forsake the fellowship, so I have to keep going to some “church”.
- I don’t have to follow those parts of the Bible I don’t like.
- I’ve been in this “church” all my life. I can’t leave now. I’d have to admit that I was wrong all these years.
- I would lose family and friends if I left my “church”.
- I would lose my paycheck if I left my position in “the church”.
- I would lose my importance/power if I left my “church”.
- My pastor/priest/leader says I’d go to hell if I leave their “church”
- God wouldn’t send good people to hell.
- I was taught that once saved, always saved so I can live anyway I want, as I’m permanently covered by grace.
- Sin is what I/the “church”/the world says it is.
- My “church” accepts people who live in sin. They just love them.
- That’s the Old Testament. It doesn’t matter what God said then.
- Lighten up. People are more heavenly minded than any earthly good when you get all fire and brimstone and black and white about God’s Word.
- I’ve never read or followed the Bible but I have several of them at home so God honors that.
- What’s wrong with that? That’s harmless. Everybody does that.
- People look at God in different ways. God’s good with all of it.
God says, all whitewashed walls will fall and all those behind them will perish.
10 Precisely because they have misled my people, saying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace, and because, when the people build a wall, these prophets smear it with whitewash, 11 say to those who smear it with whitewash that it shall fall! There will be a deluge of rain, and you, O great hailstones, will fall, and a stormy wind break out. 12 And when the wall falls, will it not be said to you, ‘Where is the coating with which you smeared it?’ 13 Therefore thus says the Lord God: I will make a stormy wind break out in my wrath, and there shall be a deluge of rain in my anger, and great hailstones in wrath to make a full end. 14 And I will break down the wall that you have smeared with whitewash, and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation will be laid bare. When it falls, you shall perish in the midst of it, and you shall know that I am the Lord. 15 Thus will I spend my wrath upon the wall and upon those who have smeared it with whitewash, and I will say to you, The wall is no more, nor those who smeared it.” Ezekiel 13:10-15
Religion (contra Word of God) and self-worship are rebellion.
“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.” 1 Samuel 15:23
Lovers of man’s religion and the world are dead.
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” 1 John 2:15-17
The goal of a Watchman isn’t to offend or judge, although most often we’re accused of and persecuted for that.
The watchman’s goal is to:
- Obey God.
- Warn people that death is coming from God if they continue in wickedness. It isn’t the Watchman’s responsibility to make sure people heed God’s warning.
What can The Walking Dead do to survive?
“Say to them, ‘As I live!’ declares the Lord God, ‘I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways!”
For those of you rebellious Walking Dead that think God doesn’t mean what He says, get ready for His sword. It will come for you one day.
For those of us who walk with Him and are obedient, we reap His blessings and the rewards promised to us!
Either way. He gives you a choice.
He always keeps His Word!
